PROGRAMA DE CERTIFICACIÓN DE PROFESORES TEFL
TEFL Certificate for English Teachers

Dirigido a profesores con o sin experiencia que deseen mejorar sus
conocimientos y habilidades en la enseñanza para ser más efectivos en sus clases. Programa completamente virtual, se compone de cinco módulos (Fundamentals of ELT, Teaching Speaking, Teaching Reading, Teaching Listening y Teaching Young Learners) de 18 a 25 horas de instrucción cada uno. Cada módulo cuenta con la participación de reconocidos autores, investigadores o capacitadores en el área pedagógica. Al terminar satisfactoriamente todos los módulos el profesor recibe un certificado de TEFL del Instituto de Lenguas de Hunter College, City University of New York, una de las más antiguas y reconocidas universidades en USA.

Bogotá offers busy English teachers a flexible and affordable way to
enhance their teaching skills with its TEFL Certificate Program. This
program combines high quality training for teachers with the ease of
up-to-date online learning environments.

The TEFL Certificate Program is designed for both newcomers or experienced teachers. Experienced teachers will become more effective in the classroom and improve their knowledge and skills. New teachers will receive a solid grounding in TEFL methodology and practice, a real
plus when looking for a suitable teaching position.

 

  • This course can be completed in your own time, using the new, innovative online program, Teacher Development Interactive from Pearson Longman.
  • Lessons feature well-known experts in English language teaching and teacher training who present material through video lectures and slide presentations.
  • Written texts help explain key concepts.
  • Frequent concept checks and practice tasks provide immediate feedback on key concepts.
  • Videos of actual classroom lessons demonstrate these ideas in action and include transcripts for extra support.
  • Podcasts with expert interviews give important additional information in audio format.
  • Important terminology is included in a glossary that students can refer to at any time.
  • Application tasks put concepts into practice.
  • Writing assignments provide opportunities for reflection, materials design, and classroom research.
  • Assessment is provided through quizzes in each lesson and a final test.

An added component to the content from Teacher Development Interactive is the online learning environment eCollege. This platform provides a space for trainees to share insights and experiences, and to complete practical activities to enrich and enhance the contents from
Teacher Development Interactive.

Upon successful completion of the TEFL Certificate Program, teachers will be awarded the First TEFL Certificate from the English Language Teaching Institute of Hunter College, City University of New York, one of the oldest and most respected universities in the U.S.


The program is divided into five modules. Each module focuses on a key area of importance: Fundamentals of ELT, Speaking, Reading, Listening and Teaching Young Learners. In order to obtain the certificate from Hunter College, each trainee must successfully complete FOUR of the FIVE modules. Participants may take the modules in the order they wish, but must complete the four modules within one year of starting the program.

Important information:

Placement
Candidates for the program must complete a placement examination and must demonstrate a B1 level of English as well as interest and commitment to English language teaching. Candidates do not need to be experienced language teachers, but it is highly recommended that participants be involved in some form of English language
teaching during the program, due to the practical nature of the modules.

Time commitment Participants will need at least 20 hours per week to complete the content on line
